Apple and Cinnamon Strudel

Apple and Cinnamon Strudel

Ingredients

  • 5 cooking apples, peeled and grated
  • 1/2 cup sultanas
  • 50 g flaked almonds
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon (Ground)
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger
  • 1 tsp All Spice
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 4 sheets of filo pastry
  • spray olive oil
  • 10 g butter, melted

Method

  1. Mix the first 7 ingredients together in a bowl (save a few almonds for the top of the strudel).
  2. Spray each sheet of filo pastry with the olive oil spray and place them on top of each other. Place the apple mixture onto the filo and roll into a log sealing the ends.
  3. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle the left over almonds and a sprinkle of cinnamon onto the top of the strudel. Place in a pre heated oven (180c) for 40 minutes or until golden.

    I absolutely love all of your herbs and spices, especially the new BBQ range. My family is just waiting for good weather to return so as they can all salivate as we cook up a storm on our very large BBQ plate. (Approx; 1.2 metres by 0.6 metres).
