Tarte Tatin

Ingredients

  • 100 g butter
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Mixed Spice
  • 6 large apples, peeled, cored and cut into quarters
  • 1 sheet pre-rolled butter puff pastry, cut to pan dimension

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 200oC.
  2. Melt butter, sugar and spice in a deep, thick based pan.
  3. Place the apples tightly around the pan and cook gently for 20 minutes until it begins to caramelise.
  4. Remove from stove top and place pastry on top of the apples.
  5. Cook in the oven for 15 minutes until pastry is golden. Flip the Tarte Tatin onto a plate so pasty is on the bottom and serve.
