Chow Mein

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 500 g beef mince
  • 1 medium brown onion, chopped finely
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Keens Curry
  • 1 large carrot, chopped finely
  • 2 trimmed celery stalks, sliced thinly
  • 2 spring onions, sliced
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1/3 cup oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 400 g packet fresh thin egg noodles
  • 1/2 small Chinese Cabbage, shredded coarsely

Method

  1. Heat oil in a wok and stir-fry beef and onion until beef is browned.
  2. Add Keens Traditional Curry Powder and stir-fry for 1 minute Add carrot, celery and spring onions and cook for a further 3 minutes.
  3. Add stock, sauces and noodles and stir-fry 2 minutes. Add wombok and cook until it is just wilted, then serve hot.

    Excellent base - Great flavor - can do with Minced Pork - chicken Sometimes add Water chestnuts and Noodle

    A great favourite by all, quick and easy to make and it's like a chiko roll without the wrapper.
