Curried Eggs Preparation Tips
Curried eggs are a versatile favourite and ideal as appetisers, sandwich fillings, or as a healthy after school snack. No matter which recipe or method you follow, here are a few tips to make curried eggs even easier.
- To determine whether an egg is fresh, immerse it in a pot of cool, salted water. If it sinks, it is fresh, but if it rises to the surface, throw it away.
- Eggs stuck to the carton? Wet the carton first and the eggs will come out without breaking.
- To keep the yolks in your eggs centred when cooking hard-boiled eggs, stir the water while cooking.
- To keep egg yolks from crumbling when slicing, wet the knife blade with water before each cut.
- Adding a little salt to the water will prevent boiling eggs from cracking.
- It is easier to remove the shells from hot, hard-boiled eggs if you rinse them in cold water first.
