Decorating and Serving Christmas Desserts

Decorating and Serving Christmas Desserts

Christmas desserts come in all shapes and sizes and are as much fun to decorate as they are to eat. Here are a few tips to get you started.

  • Custard & Ice-cream: Christmas cakes and puddings are usually rich and dense, so are delicious simply served with ice-cream or custard. For an easy flavour boost, add a pinch of cinnamon to good quality vanilla bean ice-cream, or infuse warm custard with a sprinkle of nutmeg and allspice for an easy flavour boost.
  • Frosting or icing-sugar:  Choose Christmas theme colours, such as red, white and green to bring Christmas cheer to every day cakes and cupcakes. White frosting can add a snowy touch to everyday cakes and cupcakes and looks fantastic partnered with silver balls or chocolate sprinkles. White frosting is also essential for bringing the ginger bread man to life!
  • Cherries & berries: Make the most of seasonal produce and add fresh berries or cherries to Christmas cakes and trifles. They bring a rich burst of red colour as a topping or are a delicious filling in layered desserts.
