Microwave Sauce Making Tips
There's really no excuse for even the most nervous of cooks to avoid sauce-making any longer. The microwave really does make it all so easy!
Ö Choose a jug or bowl which is large enough to prevent the sauce from boiling over as milk tends to rise rather quickly! Remember to use a microwave safe container, and avoid anything metallic.
Ö The only real art in making your sauces in the microwave is to give them a really good whisk. Don't use a metal whisk though, instead, reach for a plastic balloon whisk. It should have room enough for you to give the sauce a good whisk at the end of cooking, too
Ö Many sauces tend to thicken a little on standing so bare this in mind if you think your sauce is too thin. To thicken if required, mix a little cornstarch or flour with water, heat it to the same temperature as the sauce, and stir it in until the desired consistency is achieved.
