Ingredients
  • 200 g butter, cubed & softened
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • Rind of 1 orange
  • 3 tsp McCormick Cardamom Ground
  • 1 x Vanilla pod (scrape seeds out or use 1 tsp vanilla extract)
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 2 tbsp vanillin sugar
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced).
  2. Cream butter and sugar, then fold in orange, McCormick Cardamom Ground, vanilla, 3 egg yolks, milk and flours to form a soft dough. Roll 1 tablespoon mixture into a 20cm log, on a floured surface, fold in half and twist 2 times. Repeat.
  3. Place biscuits on baking trays lined with baking paper. Mix remaining egg yolk with ¼ cup water and brush tops of biscuits.
  4. Bake biscuits for 20 minutes or until golden. Cool completely then dust with vanillin sugar.
