Remove Mac and cheese from the fridge and allow to come to room temperature.
Use a dessert spoon to scoop out a spoonful of mac and cheese, then press and roll into a ball, approx. 3-4cm diameter. Continue making balls until all mixture is used.
Set out 3 small bowls. Place the flour in one. Mix the egg and 1 tbsp water in another and in the third, mix together the bread crumbs and the Southern Style seasoning.
Roll the balls one at a time in the flour (shaking off any excess), followed by the egg mix and then finish by coating in the breadcrumbs. A great tip is to use one hand for the dry mixes (flour and breadcrumbs) and the other for the egg.
Preheat the Air fryer to 200°C. Spray the balls with a little oil spray and place in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches for 8 mins or until golden and warmed through
For extra cheesy goodness, place a 1cm cube of mozzarella cheese in the centre of each ball as you are forming them.
